The STILTS Project – Strategies for Technology-Enhanced Inquiry Learning and Teaching in Science

http://stiltsproject.uoregon.edu/

The STILTS Project provides technology enhanced professional development in integrated inquiry-based learning and argumentative writing for middle and high school science and language arts teachers. Partners include UO College of Education, Lane Education Service District, STEM CORE, and eight high-need or high-poverty districts throughout the state.

Professional development is delivered in person through summer institutes and virtually in the immersive digital world of Second Life, as well as through reading materials and groups; mentoring; pre-, formative, and summative assessments of professional gains for teachers; and the opportunity to earn up to 2 graduate credits.
